Holmes and Watson go head-to-head with new and old villains, and once again solve the unsolvable, in a new adventure written by Jonathan Barnes.

Autumn, 1900. The lives of Sherlock Holmes and John Watson are in a state of change. The doctor has moved out of Baker Street, waiting anxiously to marry his new love, the American actress, Genevieve Dumont. Holmes has been left restless and fretful, eager for mystery and distraction.

A secret code and a brutal murder promise to bring the two men back into each other’s orbit. But there is more to the investigation than first appears to be the case. Something greater seems to be at work, moving dextrously behind the scenes: a force in the London underworld known only as the Seamstress of Peckham Rye.

Reviews

Nicholas Briggs and Richard Earl, as Holmes and Watson, are incredibly at home in their roles and its always a pleasure to hear them spark off one another. The Seamstress of Peckham Rye provides an engaging set of mysteries, though it is built with an intentionally unsatisfactory conclusion. Fortunately, we have not too long to wait: The Fiends of New York City is scheduled for release in May 2022.

Indie Mac User

Briggs and Earl are more than equal to whatever challenges they are presented with by Barnes.

The Sherlock Holmes Journal

Jonathan Barnes picks up where he left off in the previous box set. In the process, he perfectly captures Holmes, Watson, and the world they inhabit.

Scifi Pulse

Fans of the inimitable Sherlock Holmes and his trusty sidekick, Dr. Watson, are in for a treat with this listen. An exceptional cast makes this presentation of Sherlock Holmes: The Seamstress of Peckham Rye truly theater of the mind. Author Barnes keeps Conan Doyle's characters in fine investigative spirits. The cast behind the mystery is top-notch. Perfectly delivered accents range from upper-crust to downtrodden, and there's even an American voice for good measure. All one needs to do to get maximum enjoyment from this rollicking listen is to sit back for a tale told exceedingly well.
